My YouTube channel has built a vast (now nearly 1000) collection of composer performances, instructional videos and performances by students and concert artists, all featuring my music. Over a million views and continuing to rise....
My next initiative is Microlessons - short instructional videos built around pieces listed on piano examination syllabuses worldwide.
Each Microlesson includes a live performance of the piece from the composer, as well as useful tips regarding technique, practicing and interpretation.
The first bunch of Microlessons is made up of 32 pieces, which is, amazingly, how many pieces of mine are listed on the latest Royal Conservatory syllabus. Spanning grades from Preparatory to Grade 9, these should be incredibly useful for students (and maybe even teachers!) Pieces are drawn from the Connections series, Bright and Bluesy, the Idaho Suite and Microjazz Collection 5 and they make up a rich and varied selection.
Simply subscribe to Christopher Norton on YouTube and you will access to the Microlessons.
They will be organized by examination board - initially the Royal Conservatory, Conservatory Canada, ABRSM, Trinity, LCM, AMEB and ANZCA.
